From the story I would say that Steve is the good guy. His the one that tries to get people to stop arguing. He always tries to get everyone to stay calm and stop yelling. His the nice person that tries to stale everyone from keeping them for going against each other. Steve is the one who yells at charlie for shooting Pete and so was everyone else,but Steve was worst about it. He was saying he should have seen what it was before shooting the gun.
